Chawlas 2 is part of the Chawla's family of restaurants, whose story began in Haldwani, in India's Nainital district, in the 1960s. There, the late S. Attar Singh Chawla refined one of his own recipes and created Cream Chicken: chicken cooked in milk and cream with black pepper and green cardamom, made to a family recipe with no red chilli and no vegetable oil, and served with bread and mint chutney. That same dish is at the heart of our Calgary kitchen.
